2015 Elections: Police Affairs Minister, US Supports The Use Of Card Reader

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Jelili Adesiyan today in Osogbo during a PDP campaign rally has  said there was nothing wrong in the introduction of technology into the electoral process in the country but stressed that it must be well intentioned and not aimed at giving some candidates undue advantage over others.
“It is good to have card readers for elections provided it is well intentioned. During the last year governorship election in Osun State, they cloned PVC from Lagos and used them here. But with the card reader such will be impossible,” he said.

The United States government has also said they are solidly behind the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to make use of Card Readers in the March 28 and April 11 elections. This was made known today in a statement issued by the US Embassy in Nigeria.
